Getting around: Rental cars are available online. Portland's MAX light-rail system, one of the best in the nation, serves downtown, the airport, and outlying areas. To get downtown, take the Red Line, which stops about a half-mile mile from the hotel. Or take the hotel's complimentary shuttle to the airport's MAX station, where you catch the train to downtown. One-way MAX fare is $2.05. Light-rail transportation within downtown's "Fareless Square" is free.
